Zomboy (birth name Joshua Mellody) is an electronic music producer and DJ from Penzance (Cornwall, England). He began his musical journey by studying music production at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and he cites Skrillex, Reso, Rusko, and Bare Noize as his main influences. He released his debut single (Organ Donor) in 2011 and followed it up with his debut extended play (Game Time). It spent over 8 weeks in the top 5 of the Beatport (an electronic music oriented online store) dubstep chart. His musical style is best described as a blend of brostep (a subgenre of dubstep that takes the emphasis away from sub bass content, puts it on the middle register, and adds distorted bass riffs that function roughly in the same register as the electric guitar in heavy metal), electro house (a form of house music characterized by a prominent bassline and/or kick drum and a tempo between 125 and 135 beats per minute), dubstep, drum and bass (a subgenre of electronic music often characterized by fast breakbeats - typically between 160–180 beats per minute - with heavy bass and sub bass lines, sampled sources, and synthesizers), glitch hop, drumstep, and moombahcore. He’s had a stellar career with 7 extended plays and 2 studio albums.
