Tennis, Colorado's sensational indie pop artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
Tennis was formed in Denver in 2010 by the husband and wife duo of Alaina Moore (vocals, keyboards, and guitar) and Patrick Riley (guitar and bass). They met when they were students at the University of Colorado and they started making music together after a post graduation sailing expedition. They released their debut single (South Carolina) in the summer of 2010 and it wasn't long before they got a record deal. Their debut studio album (Cape Dory) came out in January 2011 and during their first tour, they added drummer James Barone to the line up. Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze) and indie pop (a subgenre of alternative/indie rock originating in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and differing from indie rock to the extent that it’s more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst free). They've had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 1 extended play, 12 singles, and they've performed at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (as the supporting act for indie rock bands Spoon and the Shins).
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to indie pop music!
