Phillip Phillips, Georgia's sensational pop rock artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
Phillip LaDon Phillips Jr. was born in Albany (Georgia) in 1990 and is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. His musical style is best described as a blend of pop rock (a genre that originated in the 1950s, influenced by the beat, arrangements, and style of rock and roll but with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft), folk rock (a style that arose in the United States and the United Kingdom around the mid 1960s, pioneered by the Los Angeles band the Byrds, who began playing traditional folk music and songs by Bob Dylan with rock instrumentation, in a style heavily influenced by the Beatles and other British bands), and adult alternative pop/rock (a branch of alternative rock - emerging after the genre's absorption into the mainstream – featuring a smooth, melodic, radio friendly style that packages alternative's mellower side for wider consumption). His breakthrough came in 2012 when he won the 11th season of American Idol and he went on to have a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 compilation albums, 1 extended play, 3 singles, 4 music videos, and a BMI Pop Music Awards. His latest album (Collateral) comes out on 19th January 2018.
