Sensational hip hop groups Living Legends and Hieroglyphics are bringing their signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
Hieroglyphics (also known as the Hieroglyphics Crew and Hiero) was formed in Oakland (California) in 1991 by rapper Del the Funky Homosapien. The group's been through a few line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Del, Casual, Pep Love, producer/manager Domino, DJ Toure, and Phesto, A-Plus, Opio, and Tajai. Their musical style is best described as a blend of underground rap (a label used to refer to rappers who are brazenly anti commercial and/or proudly independent, indifferent to the exposure promised by major label promotion and distribution), alternative hip hop (a style that encompasses the wide range of hip hop styles that aren’t mainstream and draws from funk and rock, as well as jazz, soul, country, electronic, and even folk music), and West coast rap (a subgenre of hip hop music - encompassing any artists or music that originates in the West Coast region of the United States – that dominated the hip hop scene in the mid 1990s, making gangsta rap into a popular phenomenon and establishing Dr. Dre as one of the most influential figures in rap history). They've had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 1 live album, 8 compilation albums, and 4 singles.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to hip hop music!
