Kamelot, Florida’s sensational power and symphonic metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
The band was formed in Tampa in 1991 and it consists of Thomas Youngblood (guitars and backing vocals), Sean Tibbetts (bass), Casey Grillo (drums and percussion), Oliver Palotai (keyboards), and Tommy Karevik (lead vocals). Over the years, their musical style has spanned many genres such as power metal (a subgenre of heavy metal that blends traditional metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context, and is also characterized by a more uplifting sound), symphonic metal (subgenre of heavy metal music which combines the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra), progressive metal (a fusion of heavy metal and progressive rock that combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter), and neoclassical metal (a subgenre of heavy metal that’s heavily influenced by classical music and usually features very technical playing, consisting of elements borrowed from both classical and speed metal music). They’ve had a stellar career with 10 studio albums, 2 live albums, 2 compilation albums, 1 video album, 7 singles, and 17 music videos.
