Hippie Sabotage, California’s sensational hip hop and electronic dance music artists are bringing their signature sounds to Ogden Theater!
Hippie Sabotage was formed in Sacramento in the mid 2000s and is a duo consisting of brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer. They began their musical journey by working with local music producer Chase Moore. They made a name for themselves by blending Sacramento’s melting pot of musical vibes with hip hop. They began to collaborate with other artists when they got a chance to produced beat for rappers such as J. Leake and Yukmouth. Their hard work paid off and it led to collaborations with Chicago-based artists such as Calez of 2008ighties and Kami de Chukwu. They then began to expand their musical repertoire to include more diverse influences and they released their debut extended play (Vacants) in early 2013. They released 2 more singles (White Tiger and Sunny) in the same year but it wasn’t until Ellie Goulding posted their remix of Swedish singer Tove Lo’s track (Stay High) on Instagram that they began to get mainstream recognition. It led to performances with Ellie and Tove and the duo also hit #1 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart. The remix was nominated for Song of the Year at the P3 Guld 2015 awards in Sweden.
