Hilltop Hoods, Australia's sensational hip hop artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
Hilltop Hoods formed in Blackwood (Adelaide, South Australia) in 1994 by MC Suffa (also known as Matthew David Lambert), MC Pressure (also known as Daniel Howe Smith), and DJ Next (also known as Ben John Hare). They're named after a suburb of Blackwood known by locals as the Hilltop. The group's been through a few line up changes over the years and it currently consists of MC Suffa (vocals, engineering, mixing, and producing), MC Pressure (vocals)
DJ Debris a.k.a. Barry John M Francis (producing, engineering, and turntables). Their musical style is best described as a blend of alternative hip hop (a style that encompasses the wide range of hip hop styles that aren’t mainstream and draws from funk and rock, as well as jazz, soul, country, electronic, and even folk music) and underground rap (a label used to refer to rappers who are brazenly anti commercial and/or proudly independent, indifferent to the exposure promised by major label promotion and distribution). They've had a stellar career with 7 studio albums, 2 remix albums, 6 extended plays, 20 singles, and 3 video albums. They've performed at major music festivals (Big Day Out, The Great Escape, and Splendour in the Grass, and many others) and have won 8 Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Music Awards.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to hip hop music!
