FKJ, France’s sensational electronic music artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
FKJ (birth Vincent Fenton) is a producer from Tours (France) whose stage name is an acronym for French Kiwi Juice (inspired by his double nationality; France and New Zealand). He began his musical journey by composing music (not on a computer, but with actual instruments) when he was 13 and a year later, he recorded his first song in his uncle’s studio. While his musical style can be broadly classified as electronic, it’s best described as a blend of club, down tempo (genre of electronic music similar to ambient, but with a greater emphasis on rhythm, and is not as earthy as trip hop), house, and funk. He said in an interview, “I often have a tendency to go to bass lines and rhythmic bobbing placements…I want there to be a certain groove. I've always listened to a lot of funk (Herbie Hancock), jazz (Monty Alexander) and soul (Al Green), and producers of hip hop have also inspired me, including Pharrell Williams. The music I make is a fusion of genres, including funk and house; But I say this on principle, I do not like to put labels, it's just music, refreshing, trendy, and groovy.”
Don’t miss your chance to see this artist add a unique touch to club, down tempo, house, and funk music!
