Brockhampton, Texas's sensational alternative hip hop artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
Brockhampton (stylized as BROCKHAMPTON) is a hip hop collective that started off in San Marcos (Texas) in 2015 as a duo consisting of high school friends Ian "Kevin Abstract" Simpson and Ameer Vann. It's been through many line up changes since then and it currently consists of Ian (vocals), Romil Hemnani (production), Ameer (vocals), William "Merlyn" Wood (vocals), Dominique "Dom McLennon" Simpson (vocals and production), Matt Champion (vocals), Russell "JOBA" Boring (vocals, production, and engineering), Ciarán "bearface." McDonald (vocals and production), Q3 (duo of producers Jabari Manwa and Isaiah "Kiko Merley" Merriweather), Henock "HK" Sileshi (creative direction), Ashlan Grey (photography), Robert Ontenient (webmaster and production), Anish Ochani (management), Jon Nunes (management), Nick Lenzini (stylist), and Kevin Doan (app design). Their musical style is best described as a blend of alternative hip hop (a style that encompasses the wide range of hip hop styles that aren’t mainstream and draws from funk and rock, as well as jazz, soul, country, electronic, and even folk music), experimental hip hop, underground rap (a label used to refer to rappers who are brazenly anti commercial and/or proudly independent, indifferent to the exposure promised by major label promotion and distribution), and alternative R&B. They've had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 1 mix tape, 15 singles, and 14 music videos.
