Black Label Society and Corrosion of Conformity are bringing their signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
Black Label Society was formed in Los Angeles in 1998 by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde (also known as Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt). The band's been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Zakk (lead vocals, lead guitar, and piano), John DeServio (bass and backing vocals), Dario Lorina (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), and Jeff Fabb (drums). Their musical style is best described as a blend of heavy metal (a subgenre of rock that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s and features a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness), sludge metal (a typically harsh and abrasive genre - that blends elements of doom metal and hardcore punk - often featuring shouted or screamed vocals, heavily distorted instruments, and sharply contrasting tempos), and groove metal (a subgenre of heavy metal that takes the intensity and sonic qualities of thrash metal and plays them at mid tempo, with most bands making only occasional forays into fast tempo). They've had a stellar career with 9 studio albums, 2 live albums, 3 compilation albums, 2 extended plays, 4 video albums, and 19 singles.
