Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Massachusetts’ sensational indie rock artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Ogden Theater!
Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness is the musical project of singer, songwriter, producer, and multi instrumentalist Andrew Ross McMahon. Born in Concord (Massachusetts) in 1982, he began his musical journey by teaching himself to play the piano when he was just 9 years old. A year later, he was playing solos (without having learnt to read music), writing songs, and performing at school assemblies. He went on to become the vocalist, pianist and primary lyricist, for the alternative rock band Something Corporate. They had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 2 extended plays, 2 compilation albums, 2 live albums, 1 video album, and 6 singles. Andrew then started the solo project (titled Jack's Mannequin and it eventually became a full band. Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness is his latest project and its best described as a blend of indie rock with soaring, piano driven pop melodies. The project’s first single (named after Andrew’s new born daughter) came out in July 2014 and its eponymous debut album was released shortly thereafter. Andrew has also toured with Matt Nathanson, Gavin DeGraw, Weezer, and Panic! at the Disco. His latest album (Zombies on Broadway) came out in February 2017.
